You will fly via Istanbul to Dushanbe in Tajikistan, and after customs formalities and weapon declarations have been completed, you will continue your transfer by car to Kharog (10 hours) for an overnight and from here hunters are taken by car to the Pamir Mountains (7-8 hour drive). The last part of the journey will either be on horseback or by car.
Once you have reached the hunting district you will enjoy a rest day in the main camp. This day is included in your program to help you acclimatize to the high altitude. The main camp lies at an altitude of 3.800 m. above sea level. The camps consist of simple but very comfortable huts with comfortable beds, water, a sauna and heating.
After your rest day you will start your hunt. In the company of your guide, you will ride or walk out to the different small fly-camps. These small camps consist of either stone-built huts or tents and are of a very simple nature. Normally it will take 4 – 6 hours to reach the hunting district from the main camp. After you Marco Polo hunt has been successfully completed, you can then continue hunting, this time for ibex. During the hunt itself you will be sleeping in tents, so remember to bring along a good, warm sleeping bag.
