Distribution: South Africa.
Habitat: Dense bush and base of hills with tall grass.
Description: Small antelope weighing 8 - 12 kg. with a shoulder height not normally more than 50 cm. General colour rufous brown, with numerous white hairs imparting a grizzled appearance. It has white markings over the eyes and on the throat. The horns are rather short, straight, needle-like and nearly vertical, black and ringed.
Hunting method: Pursch, driven hunts or walking up with shot gun.
