We have entered an exclusive partnership with a strong public-private hunting operator in some of the most fertile and game-rich regions of northeastern Bulgaria.
The biotope here produces some of the strongest red stags in Europe – often referred to as “Danube Stags”. These majestic animals are known for their impressive size, dark brown coat, and heavy, wide antlers.
Several years ago, a wealthy and passionate Bulgarian hunter initiated a partnership with various state hunting grounds and national parks in northeastern Bulgaria. After years of dedicated habitat and game management, the result today is a world-class population of especially red stags.
All hunting grounds are open areas in fertile, natural landscapes along the Danube River and close to the Romanian border. Both red deer and wild boar have crossed the Danube and now inhabit several river islands (each around 600 ha), which are also actively managed for wildlife. Hunting is possible here as well, and a very comfortable hunting lodge has been built on one of the islands – offering the same excellent standard of food and service as the lodges on the mainland.
These hunting areas are among the favorites of the CIC President, who hunts here regularly – likely also because a record-breaking stag was taken here, weighing an incredible 16.96 kg and scoring 253.86 CIC points! Most hunters can realistically expect stags with antler weights around 12 kg, but if a hunter indicates “no limit”, the chances are good to pursue even stronger trophies.
Before the hunt, hunters can state their preferred maximum trophy size, and the hunting guide is obliged to respect this limit with a tolerance of ±15%.
Prices include full-board accommodation in comfortable hunting lodges decorated with trophies and offering a warm, authentic hunting ambiance. Meals are plentiful and of good quality. All drinks are included – even alcoholic beverages, such as local wines and beers. Bulgaria is renowned for its excellent wines.

Trophy Hunting
Your professional hunting guide will assess the trophy with great confidence and ensure the best possible shooting opportunity. According to Bulgarian hunting law, a foreign hunter must accept a variation in trophy size of up to +/- 15% in the harvested game. If the variation exceeds 15%, the trophy may be left behind. This provides additional security when planning the trophy fee budget.
