We can offer this exclusive hunt for red legged partridge with one of the oldest and most fashionable outfitters in Portugal.
3 days from $4,295
We have been given the opportunity to offer red legged partridge hunting in one of Portugal's oldest and most exclusive areas. The family of 3 generations take pride in upholding the old traditions and the very high quality of the hunting organization and accommodation.
The area is located approx. 1.5 hours drive from Lisbon airport, in the Alentejo region. There is a private airport (also for jets) approx. 45 min. driving from the area. Transfers are offered by car and bus, but also own helicopter service is available.
Partridge hunts in Portugal are known to be some of the best in Europe. Hunting in this area is steeped in history dating back to the eighteenth century. The quality is one of the highest in Portugal, and recently the area won the "Best Outfitter" award in partridge shooting, and for the excellent conditions they present, in both accommodation as well as the quality of the red-legged partridges.
If you are passionate about bird hunting, combined with first class hospitality, service and accommodation, then this area is the perfect destination.
Hunting season is from 1st October to 31st January.
The hunt:
The area does not aim to achieve the largest parades, but rather to optimize the quality of the hunt, so that the hunter gets a challenging hunt in different terrains, and with varying shooting scenes and degrees of difficulty. However, they promise a minimum of 50 birds per hunter per day on the driven hunts, and if groups of hunters ask for the classic large parades of over 1000 birds per day, then of course that can also be arranged.
The area can arrange walk-up hunts for groups of minimum 4 hunters, where you can expect at least 15 birds per hunter per day. For groups of at least 8 hunters, we can arrange either 2 days of driven hunting (with 50 birds per hunter per day included) or a combination hunt with 1 day walk-up (with 15 birds per hunter per day included) and 1 day of driven hunting, with 50 birds included per hunter. All hunters are assigned a personal "secretary" and loader, so you only have to concentrate on hitting the birds!
If a full day of partridge shooting is not enough, duck hunting can be arranged in the evening at a large lake up to the area (expect 10-25 ducks per hunter per evening).
Or you can take an extra day, on a neighboring farm, where a Monteria (with up to 80 dogs) can be arranged on wild boar in a fence of approx. 500 ha, and 3 pigs are included in the price per hunter. Rifles can be rented (up to 10 hunters).
