Would you like to experience chamois hunting at it’s best? - we can offer hunting amongst the most dense packed population of chamois in Romania
3 days from $1,795
We have gained access to one of the best districts in the central, very hilly part of Romania, which has mountains of up to 2500m in height.
The Carpathian chamois is also the largest race of this animal, as a general rule chamois of under 100 CIC (Bronze medal sized) are not hunted.
The hunt starts by climbing up the hills at sunrise. The hunting is physically demanding, but the tempo is kept within the capabilities of the individual hunters. Many pauses occur quite naturally as you stop to scan the hillside for animals. Many hunters visiting here manage to bag their chamois on the first day, so it is quite possible to hunt for additional chamois on the same trip, or combine this hunt with hunting for wild boar and red stags (during the season).
The hunt starts as you climb up through the large areas of forest then continues higher up above the tree line all the way to the mountain tops. Remember to bring a good pair of binoculars.
Both male and female chamois are trophy bearing, the only difference is that the female’s horns are slightly thinner and not quite so curved as the males.
The max. number of hunters allowed in the district is 3.
After a chamois has been shot, it is skinned and parted before being packed up for the decent.
If you wish to avoid climbing and descending from the hills every day it can, on payment of a modest supplement, be arranged to stay overnight in a primitive shepherds hut up in the mountains. This allows you to start your hunt from the mountain tops at sunrise. This is a really memorable experience - it is hard work, but beautiful thing to do.

As standard our hunters stay in a local hunting lodge that belongs to the district they are hunting in. Here you can enjoy the good local cuisine, which is very similar to the type of food you might be familiar with in Poland. It is of course also possible to upgrade to a hotel of manor house - upon payment of a modest supplement. But you must also budget for the extra driving involved to reach...
