Greywing francolin

Scientific name: Scleroptila afra

Distribution: It is common in southern Africa.

Habitat: The grey-winged francolin daily occurs in mountainous regions. In someplace the hunting districts where they live can only be reached on horseback. It is found in flocks of up to 25 birds in the mountains of Eastern Cape and Natal.

Description: It is one of the most challenging birds to shoot in South Africa and it is both fast flying and lives in areas that are somewhat inaccessible. It has a small body, and light brown plumage, often with a yellow sheen.
