ARU is a very exclusive place to experience in Namibia. ARU has 2 farms, both situated a little south east of Windhoek - KALAKWA and VERONICA.
KALAKWA is 12.000 hectares and VERONICA is 15.000 hectares, and ARU often plan the hunts so that you get 3-4 days on the one farm, and 3-4 days on the other farm. They also arrange bow hunting, and we would like to mention that ARU also has a female professional hunter (PH), who can guide on both rifle and bow hunting.
For the non-hunting guests ARU can offer game drives, clay pigeon shooting, walking safari, horse riding, quad biking, fitness room, sauna, spa, swimming pool, or a trip to the capital Windhoek. Of course, the non-hunters are also welcome to join on the hunting car, and suck in the African bush.
The districts offer hunting for all of the characteristic Namibian species including the challenging mountain zebra. Here great emphasis is laid on fair-chase hunting and the hunter should be prepared to work for his trophies. When it comes to the mountain zebra, you have to be prepared to work really hard. For the more usual plains game species, as long as you are in reasonable condition you will easily be able to meet the challenges set by the terrain.
In addition to the above hunting districts in central Namibia, ARU have access to a fantastic safari concession in northern Namibia, which can offer big game species such as buffalo, elephant, lion, crocodile, hippo, hyena and leopard. This district is also home to some very sought after plains game species such as red lechwe, black-faced impala, sable and roan.
