Osonjiva

Osonjiva is located in central Namibia near Otjiwarongo and offers classic African hunting in a large and diverse wilderness area. The hunting grounds are characterised by open savannah, denser bush, dry riverbeds and areas of undulating terrain, which together create excellent and varied conditions for exciting spot-and-stalk hunting.

The area has a strong and diverse game population, including many of Namibia’s most sought-after plains game species. Hunting opportunities include oryx, kudu, eland, hartebeest, blue and black wildebeest, springbok, impala, waterbuck, warthog and various smaller antelope species. Burchell’s zebra and mountain zebra are also found in the area.

For the experienced hunter, there are also opportunities to hunt dangerous game such as buffalo and leopard, as well as cheetah. These hunts are conducted under the guidance of experienced professional hunters and require thorough preparation, patience and precision. Hunting large predators and buffalo adds an extra dimension to the stay and offers a more demanding and intense African hunting experience.

Hunting mainly takes place as traditional spot-and-stalk hunting. Accompanied by a professional hunter and experienced trackers, guests pursue the game on foot, assess different trophies and attempt to get within a safe and responsible shooting distance. The open landscape often makes it possible to spot game from a distance, while the denser bush areas can lead to intense hunting situations at relatively close range.
