Distribution: From Arizona and southern Texas to southern Brazil, Paraguay, northern and northwestern Argentina, and the Andes region of Peru.

Habitat: Forests, savanna and shrubby areas.

Description: Small cat weighing around 10 kg and measuring up to 35 cm over the shoulder, reaching a total body length of 80 cm.

Hunting method: Not really regarded as a game species.
